Elena Grifoni Winters

Italian, quadrilingual (Italian, French, English, Dutch), graduated in Computer Sciences (Informatica) at the University of Pisa, she has worked and lived mostly outside Italy, in France, the Netherlands and the United States where, for 5 years, she worked at NASA.

After a long technical and political career at the European Space Agency, where until 2022 she was Head of Cabinet of the Director General, she has been Head of the Space Policy Office of the Italian Prime Minister’s Office (Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri) until end 2023.

Currently, she is Space Policy and Governance Professor at the post-graduate school GSSI and adviser to the French “Think Tank” CAPRI, specialised in geopolitical and strategic studies.
