Davide De Simone

Davide De Simone

(Member, IEEE) was born in Varese, Italy, in November 1993. He obtained his master’s degree and European Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2017 and 2021, respectively.

During the final year of his Ph.D., he held the position of Electronic R&D Engineer in the field of power electronics at a company specialized in the integration of grid-scale energy storage systems. From 2022 to 2023, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Power Electronics, Drives, and Storage Systems (PeDS) laboratory of Politecnico di Milano, focusing on modular multilevel converters for automotive and stationary applications.

He is currently a Researcher at the Department of Electronics, Information, and Bioengineering (DEIB) at Politecnico di Milano, working in the Electric Power Systems and Power Electronics Research Group. His research interests include modular multilevel converters, open-ended electrical drives, and energy storage systems. Dr. De Simone is also an Associate Editor of the IEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology.
