Cristiano Nattero

Cristiano Nattero is a versatile Computer Engineer with a PhD in Mathematical Engineering and Simulation. Currently serving as a Business Developer at WASDI and Senior Developer at FadeOut Software, Cristiano boasts extensive experience in academia, corporate industries, and high-tech startups.

As a co-developer of WASDI, he has significantly contributed to its backend, programming libraries, and Earth Observation processors. Cristiano’s diverse expertise spans IoT systems, cloud services, computer vision, combinatorial optimization, and computational geometry, applied across fields like logistics, robotics, and manufacturing.

He has held notable roles, including CTO at Colouree, an Italian smart cities startup, and Researcher and Adjunct Professor at Università degli Studi di Genova. With over 15 peer-reviewed publications, Cristiano has earned accolades such as the 2012 IFSA Young Scientist Award.

Driven by a passion for tackling complex problems with effective and groundbreaking approaches, his interests include Artificial Intelligence for Earth Observation (AI4EO): Cristiano’s teams won the ESA Phi-Unet International Challenge for UNOSAT, in the first ESA AI4EO Challenge for Air Quality and Health, and reached 5th-place in NASA’s AI4EO Airathon.
